# Templates

A template is a kind, a version, a size and a set of files. It exists so that a modpack or a provisioned database is described once and every target from it is identical, which is what makes backups and upgrades predictable. Pinning the size is the part that matters in an account with a ceiling: two boxes from one template cost the same.

## List them

```
kraftify templates list
```

## Create one

```
kraftify templates create minecraft-survival --from minecraft --version 1.21.4 --size medium
```

Upload the files with `--include`, or push a world from a target you already have:

```
kraftify templates push <template> ./world
```

## Deploy from a template

```
kraftify deploy --template minecraft-survival
```

> Templates are stored like any other target file and are covered by the same retention rules. A template is not a backup: see Backups.
